Polaris RZR wanted to remind off-road enthusiasts about Camp RZR in Glamis, Calif., on October 31-November 2.
Known as a celebration of all things RZR, the first Camp RZR was held during the 2013 New Years weekend, in the Glamis Sand Dunes, in Calif. The event was such a success, it was repeated later that year over Halloween weekend. Polaris expanded the event internationally when the first-ever Camp RZR was held in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year; and added a second North American Camp at Brimstone, in Huntsville, Tenn., in September. Similar to years past, Camp RZR will feature vendors, free food, giveaways, RZR 170 races, a Show & Shine competition, a kid’s zone, RZR demos and Polaris staff on hand to answer questions. The RZR 170 races will include celebrity racers Ronnie Renner, Levi LaVallee, RJ Anderson and Colten Moore with autograph sessions on Friday and Saturday. The evening of Friday, October 31, Camp RZR will air the premiere of XP1K2, presented by UTVUnderground, and produced by Mad Media. For the second installment, RJ Anderson has returned to pilot an all-new, custom-built Holz Racing XP1K2 Side-by-Side, which will feature a ProStar®1000 engine modified by Muzzys Performance, newly-designed Holz Racing suspension, and custom Walker Evans racing shocks. The video follows Anderson as he pilots the vehicle through wooded trails, massive dirt jumps and more than twenty jaw-dropping man-made obstacles. This year’s giveaways are bigger than ever with more than $50,000 in prizes being given away on Saturday. The pre-grand prize giveaways start at 3 p.m. which include big-ticket items from Polaris and its partners, and the Grand Prize, a custom RZR XP 1000, will being given away at 7:30 p.m. All prizes require the winner to be present to win. More information about the upcoming Camp RZRs can be found at www.camprzr.com,

RANGER CREW 900-6, ACE 570 SP and RZR 170 EFI added to product mixPolaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII), the leading manufacturer of off-road vehicles, today announced three additional UTVOff-Road Vehicle offerings, the RANGER CREW® 900-6, Polaris ACE™ 570 SP and RZR® 170 EFI.
To accommodate multi-passenger customers who are looking to haul more people, Polaris is excited to announce the all-new UTV RANGER CREW 900-6. The UTV RANGER CREW 900-6 has all the same premium features as the RANGER CREW 900 with an additional seating space in the front row -replacing the center console- that ups the carrying capacity to six passengers. The vehicle offers the same features as the five-passenger RANGER CREW 900: class-leading 60 horsepower ProStar™ 900 engine, big towing and payload capacity, monstrous storage, comfortable ergonomics and state-of-the-art accessory integration with the industry-exclusive Pro-Fit cab system. The RANGER CREW 900-6 will be available in Sage Green. Electronic Power Steering (EPS) models include Sunset Red, White Lightning and Polaris Pursuit® Camo. Polaris adds to the newly-introduced UTV Polaris ACE line-up with the new ACE 570 SP. The vehicle offers an even more capable, confident and comfortable driving experience with the addition of Electronic Power Steering (EPS) and an Engine Braking System (EBS). To ride all day with less fatigue, the UTV ACE 570 SP’s EPS is the smoothest, most-responsive Power Steering available with Variable Assist for easier steering at low speeds. For optimum control and smooth, even deceleration, the EBS works to control braking directly from the engine. These two new features found on the ACE 570 SP work in tandem to provide even more comfort, capability and confidence. The ACE 570 SP is the third vehicle in the ACE family to be announced by Polaris this year and will be available in Black Pearl Premium Paint with 12 in/30.48 cm cast aluminum wheels and a cut-and-sew, adjustable seat. The RZR 170 is the only side-by-side vehicle available for youth riders 10 years old and older. For Model Year 2015, Polaris is adding EFI to the popular youth model for easier starting, improved idle quality, smooth throttle response and improved speed limiting. The RZR 170 EFI will continue to include a wide variety of safety features such as an adjustable throttle limiter to enable adults to set a maximum speed control limit, daytime running lights to increase daytime visibility, full floorboards, seatbelts, color-coded pedals, parking brake and side nets. The vehicle will be available in Indy Red and Voodoo Blue. The RANGER CREW® 900-6 in Sage Green and Polaris Pursuit Camo, Polaris ACE 570 SP and RZR 170 EFI will be available at Polaris dealerships nationwide starting in November. The additional RANGER CREW® 900-6 EPS colors will be available in January. Polaris Defense, a division of Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) is excited to announce the launch of the DAGOR™ ultra-light combat vehicle, at the 2014 Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting, in Washington, D.C. , Oct. 13-15. The DAGOR was designed and tested, and is now under contract and in production – all in less than two years – leveraging Polaris’ world class off-road engineering and design capability, to meet an emerging threat to SOF and light infantry forces. “The DAGOR was engineered to meet a very demanding set of light-mobility needs for our customer,” said Jed Leonard, manager of Advanced Mobility Platforms, and Polaris Defense. “It provides the optimal balance of rapid air transportability, payload and advanced mobility. The design offers our customers a modular, light-weight platform to support a variety of expeditionary missions.” The DAGOR has world-class capability in extreme off-road terrain at full payload. The purpose-built vehicle is designed with trophy truck-inspired suspension to carry 3,250 lbs of payload or a 9-man infantry squad at a higher rate of speed over terrain usually traveled on foot. This allows the warfighter to move quickly to the objective with mission-critical equipment. DAGOR’s unique design allows for ease of operation, maintenance and sustainment in support of combat operations. The vehicle uses a readily available commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) driveline, controls and components streamlining mechanic and operator training. The diesel/JP8 COTS engine was selected for its combination of power, weight and size. The open design of the cargo bed maximizes loading space, flexibility and access for mission-essential equipment. The vehicle curb weight is less than 4,500lbs to maximize aircraft operational range. The width of DAGOR allows rapid loading into the CH-47 Chinook platform without modification and the weight allows it to be sling loaded under the UH-60 Black Hawk. The vehicle has completed government durability testing and is certified for CH-47 Chinook Internal Air Transport (IAT), air drop, and UH-60 Black Hawk Sling Load. “DAGOR is under contract with elements of U.S. SOCOM and international SOF customers,” said Rich Haddad, Polaris Defense General Manager. “DAGOR is larger than our previous offerings like the MRZR and MV850, and represents a step up in size for Polaris and in payload for our customers. DAGOR highlights Polaris Defense’s ability to fill an urgent need, with an affordable purpose-built MILCOTS solution that can be maintained anywhere with a COTS supply chain.”
Pratt Brothers Win Heartland Challenge; Three in Top Five at Vegas To RenoTeam ITP Pro-level side-by-side racing teams competed in three different off-road series over the August 15-17 weekend, earning several podiums along the way. At the 2014 Heartland Challenge in Iowa, Marcus and Mouse Pratt took the UTV Open class win on ITP tires. At the Vegas To Reno leg of the 2014 Best In The Desert series in Nevada, the Murray Racing / Can-Am / ITP team scored a third-place podium finish as three ITP-backed teams earned top-five finishes in the 1900 P class. And Nick Thompson took second place in the Pro 1000 class at round seven of the Dirt Series in Southern California. "We had some good results this weekend competing in several different events in three different states. I couldn't be happier for the Pratt brothers, who have worked their tails off all year to put ITP on top of the box no matter what series they compete in. They proved that ITP is THE tire choice for competing in such demanding race as the 4-hour Heartland Challenge" said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. HEARTLAND CHALLENGEThe 2014 Heartland Challenge endurance race featured several different classes for ATVs and side-by-side vehicles. However, unlike last year's dust fest, this year's event offered much better course conditions, despite heavy rains Friday and light rain on Saturday. The challenging hills, complete with new rain ruts and traction grooves and manmade obstacle course kept all the racers honest in their approach and strategy. ATV racers competed for 10 hours, while SxS teams circled the course for four hours. Despite a poor start and venturing off course - which ultimately required more time to catch the leading teams - pilots Marcus and Mouse Pratt (Team Jack's Excavating / Can-Am / ITP) managed to outlast all the other SxS teams to notch their first career Heartland Challenge victory. They won the UTV Open class, completing the four-hour race in a time of 3:53:48, and took the overall as well against more than 50 others. ITP racers scored two other class wins in Iowa. Team I Love Hooters won the 900cc UTV class using ITP tires. ITP also won the 30+ class, as Team Media All Stars took home the class win aboard their Suzuki dressed in ITP tires. BITD VEGAS TO RENO Described as America's longest off-road race, the Vegas To Reno leg of the Best In The Desert series is popular for its location (both in the US and Las Vegas), the challenging Nevada desert and the fact that it is a double-points round. The 2014 course, which measured some 530-some miles, was more difficult because heavy rains created plenty of erosion and ruts as well as a course reroute over a dry lake bed. Even the promoter, Casey Folks, had to remind drivers to remember that the first 20 miles and last 20 miles of the course are notoriously treacherous due to the extremely rocky conditions. In other words, teams had to pace themselves as well as push themselves to earn a podium at this round. For the Murray Racing / Can-Am / ITP team, the Vegas To Reno round meant a chance to earn valuable points and climb in the class 1900 P (UTV Pro) standings. Brothers Derek and Jason Murray, who sat fifth in the class point standings coming into the race, did just that with a solid third-place podium finish in Nevada. Despite starting 18th, Derek put the hammer down and was able to climb into the top 10 (eighth) after the first 200 miles. Once Jason took over, the team gained even more positions, moving into third place and podium contention. Derek resumed control of the No. 1917 Can-Am Maverick shod with 30-inch ITP Ultracross tires and pushed hard all the way to the finish. With a time of 11:44:31.261, the Murray team ended up third overall for their best BITD finish of the year. "We managed to pull a podium spot for the fourth time in five years at this race. The Can Am ITP Maverick ran perfect all day. This makes 29 consecutive BITD finishes for us," said Derek Murray. ITP drivers Brian Bush (Bush Racing / ITP / Polaris) finished fourth, a little more than 15 minutes behind the Murrays. John Angal was five minutes behind Bush and rounded out the top five in the UTV Pro division, giving ITP three of the top-five finishing teams. DIRT SERIES, ROUND 7Nick Thompson scored a huge second-place finish in the SxS PRO 1000 class at round seven of the Dirt Series held at Lake Elsinore MX Park in Lake Elsinore, Calif. The podium finish was not only his fourth time on the box for the season, but it also propelled him into the class points lead heading into round eight at Glen Helen. Thompson currently holds a four-point lead with his No. 176 Polaris outfitted with ITP Black Water Evolution tires.
