The vehicle features the first high output engine on a RZR, a 94 horsepower ProStar™ 900 Twin EFI engine coupled with a stainless steel SLP® exhaust; a long wheelbase for a smoother ride; comfort features such as premium Walker Evans 2.5 inch Body Rear Shocks, Electronic Power Steering and PRP seats; and premium features such as a custom cab frame, factory-installed doors, dual removable cargo boxes, Bighorn tires on painted Walker Evans beadlock rims and a Jagged X-inspired graphics package “Off-road racing is incredible proving grounds for our machines and Polaris has been working closely with one of the premier off-road racing teams, Jagged X, for a number of years,” said Donna Beadle, Polaris Off-Road Racing Team Manager. “Last year, for the introduction of the RZR XP 4 900, Jagged X raced a nearly-stock car for the Best in the Desert Series. The successful season, which included five podiums in six races, showed the capability of the unit, provided a whole new customer solution and is the inspiration for the RZR XP 900 H.O. Jagged X Edition.” To give the new RZR XP 900 H.O. Jagged X Edition more power, Polaris took the class-leading 88 horsepower ProStar 900 that’s been powering the RZR XP 900 and RZR XP 4 and made it a high output engine. Changes include new profiles on the intake and exhaust camshafts, and the addition of stiffer valve springs. These changes were paired with a new engine calibration and a stainless steel SLP® exhaust with dual outlets for increased exhaust flow and an aggressive race-inspired sound. To accommodate the power increase, the clutches were updated with new weights to provide increased acceleration performance. The ProStar 900 H.O. now boasts 94 HP, with acceleration on par with the RZR XP 900 and 17 percent faster acceleration (0-60mph) than the RZR XP 4 900 Along with having more power, The RZR XP 900 H.O. Jagged X Edition is the most comfortable side-by-side available due to its 26-inch longer wheelbase for a smoother ride and Walker Evans 2.5” Body Rear Shocks. For comfort in the cabin, Polaris added deep-bolstered, five-point, harness-ready PRP seats, the most-comfortable seats on the market, an easily-adjustable driver seat and more than an inch of additional legroom. To reduce rider fatigue and steering effort, the vehicle also features electronic power steering to tackle the toughest terrain. As the most-premium RZR ever, the RZR XP 900 H.O. Jagged X Edition offers thousands of dollars in factory-installed add-ons for incredible visual appeal and even more performance. Along with its black, blue and white Jagged X-inspired graphics, the vehicle sports matching factory-installed doors, Voodoo Blue painted suspension springs and valve cover, a race-inspired, color-matched, custom cab frame with integrated rear cab frame extension that wraps around the rear bed and Bighorn tires on Black painted Walker Evans beadlock wheels with color-matched beadlock rings. For added storage, the unit also features weather-sealed, dual cargo boxes in the rear cab area that have lockable lids and are easily removed. The RZR XP 900 H.O. Jagged X Edition will be available at Polaris dealerships in very limited quantities in late January.

American Honda today announced that production of Honda side-by-side MUVs
will transfer in 2013 from Honda de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (HDM) to Honda of South Carolina Mfg., Inc. (HSC) in Timmonsville, SC. Honda currently markets the Big Red side-by-side in the U.S. These changes are part of a global Honda strategy tied to future growth forecast in the side-by-side segment. Current plans call for the completion of side-by-side production at HDM in 2013, with production to begin at HSC in the summer of 2013 to meet the needs of U.S. customers and for export to global markets. Currently dedicated solely to the production of Honda all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), HSC has the capacity to produce more than 250,000 vehicles and 310,000 engines annually. Based on the increased production capacity and future expansion potential, it was determined that HSC was the right location for Honda side-by-side production. HSC is one of nine major Honda factories in the U.S. Since it began operation in 1998, HSC has manufactured more than 2.5 million Honda ATVs. Following the move of side-by-side production, HDM will increase capacity for the production of additional two-wheel products to meet growing market demand in Mexico. 900took the GNCC “Open Modified” UTV Championship for fourth consecutive year with Yokley’s teammate, Scott Kiger in his National Guard / Polaris / Coastal / Yoshimura / Yokley Racing RZR XP 900 taking second. RZRs proved to be a dominant force in the class taking the top five spots for the season. The last UTV race of the season, The Amsoil Ironman, saw three RZRs on the podium for the “Open Modified” class with Yokley taking top honors. Teammate, Kiger, had an unfortunate incident where a tree became lodged between his wheel and frame leaving him in last after the first lap. Kiger was able to pick cars off one-by-one for the remainder of the race to finish fourth and seal second place for the year. “We would like to congratulate William and Scott on another awesome GNCC side-by-side racing season,” said Donna Beadle, race team manager for Polaris Racing. “They made it an exciting season and once again, brought home the championship.” Yokley Racing is sponsored by The Army National Guard, Polaris Industries, Coastal Racing, Yoshimura, Kenda Tires, DragonFire Racing, EXIT Suspension, Keizer Wheels, Holz Racing Products, Tireballs, Moto Pro Training, Monavie, March Westin, TUSK Off-Road and Big Country Powersports. With the WORCS Racing season coming to a
close this past weekend in Taft, Calif., at Honolulu Hills, RZR XP 900s ended the season with the top three spots in the “Production 1000” class and a RZR 570 took the “Production 700 Class.” The “Production 1000” class saw Ryan Piplic take the checkered flag at Honolulu Hills sealing the championship in the class for 2012. RJ Anderson finished the series in second with Beau Baron in third. Cody Rahders and the Polaris Industries, Cognito Motorsport, UTVunderground RZR 570 set out to show the racing world that the RZR 570 was a capable racer and could beat bigger displacement vehicles due to its ultimate combination of power, suspension and agility. Rahders needed a fourth place or better finish, and when the dust settled, he crossed the line in third and took the “Production 700 Class” Championship! “What a season, to go from fourth in points to winning the title, awesome,” said Rahders. “There is no way we could have done it without our sponsors, thanks everyone!” “Polaris would like to congratulate all the winners riding our vehicles,” said Donna Beadle, race team manager for Polaris. “It takes a lot of dedication, time and perseverance throughout the season and it has definitely paid off for these guys. Polaris thanks you for taking our vehicles to the top.” |
